Samsung LED TV with backlightingJust when you thought you figured out which new TV is better for you – LCD or plasma – along comes Samsung and shows off the next big thing.

A new 40-inch LCD TV with LED backlighting the company says generates a contrast ratio that´s five times better than LCD or plasma (10000:1) .

The display uses backlighting technology with conventional cold cathode fluorescent light (CCFL). Samsung says the set also has a color saturation level that is 105 percent of the NTSC and PAL standard. Think about it: showing better color than the stations actually broadcast …
